A family of four were found dead in Bengaluru’s Sadashivnagar on Monday, January 6. The deceased have been identified as 38-year-old Anoop from Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, his wife 35-year-old Raakhi, their daughter, aged five years, and their son aged two years.  

Sadashivanagar police told the media that according to house help, the couple were allegedly distraught over the condition of their daughter, who was said to have disabilities. The bodies were discovered when the house help came on Monday morning and did not get any response from the family. She immediately informed the police upon discovering the bodies.

Sadashivanagar police, who suspect the deaths to be a case of murder-suicide, are investigating the possible reasons for their deaths.

On August 3, 2023, a shocking incident of a 31-year-old software professional ending his life after killing his wife and two daughters was reported in Kadugodi police station limits of Bengaluru.

In another incident, a 24-year-old techie working with a reputed IT company died by suicide after inhaling helium gas in a hotel in Bengaluru on August 20, 2024.
