Bengaluru boy goes missing, found dead in pond near home

The body of a seven-year-old boy who went missing from his home in Bengaluru’s Sarjapur on Thursday, January 16 was found in a pond about a kilometre away from his residence on Friday, police said.

The boy has been identified as Elvin D’souza. His parents reported him missing on Thursday evening, prompting the Sarjapur police to launch a search operation.

According to police, Elvin’s bicycle and slippers were found near a small pond in Sarjapur on Friday morning. Suspecting that he might have drowned, authorities searched the pond and recovered his body shortly after. 

The exact circumstances leading to the incident are still being verified. The missing person complaint filed by Elvin’s parents has been converted into a case of unnatural death, and further investigations are underway.
