A 42-year-old advocate was allegedly shot dead by two tenants following a dispute over unpaid rent at his residence in Bengaluru’s Pattandur Agrahara around midnight on October 18.

The deceased, identified as Manjunath, sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The two accused, who work as delivery executives, fled after the shooting and have not yet been arrested, police said on October 19.

According to preliminary investigations, an argument broke out between Manjunath and the two tenants over non-payment of rent about an hour before the shooting. The accused allegedly opened fire before fleeing the scene.

A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team inspected the scene as part of the investigation. Manjunath’s body was shifted for a postmortem examination.

Whitefield police have registered a case and are making efforts to trace and arrest the accused. Further investigation is underway.
