The makers of Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited historical flick Sye Raa released the trailer of the film on Wednesday evening. High on stunt and action sequences, the trailer lionises Chiranjeevi, who plays the titular role of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy from Andhra Pradesh.
The three-minute long trailer of Sye Raa is colourful, with a lot of explosive war sequences. The film tells the tale of Narasimha Reddy, a valiant warrior who led the people of the Reenaadu village in Andhra to wage a war against the British. Kichcha Sudeep and Amitabh Bachchan are seen in pivotal roles along with Vijay Sethupathi, who is playing an ally from Tamil Nadu in Narasimha's war for freedom.
The film also has certain dramatic sequences in which the villagers of Reenaadu loudly proclaim that Narasimha Reddy lives in their hearts, to a bunch of British men scouting for the hero with orders to shoot him at sight. The trailer ends with Chiranjeevi, chained and awaiting his death sentence, once again screaming at the Englishmen to get out of his motherland.
Tamannaah, who plays Lakshmi, appears to have performed action sequences too. One can also catch sight of a fierce Niharika running in the battlefield. Nayanthara is all grace as Queen Siddhamma.
Directed by Surender Reddy, Sye Raa is being bankrolled by Ram Charan Teja under his home banner Konidela Production Company on a budget of Rs 200 crore. Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment is presenting Sye Raa in Hindi. The film was announced in 2017 and took almost two years to finish shooting. The war sequences in the film have been reportedly shot in the jungles of Georgia.
Touted to be one of the first civil rebellions against the British empire, Hollywood's Lee Withaker and George Powell were roped in as the stunt masters. The movie has grand VFX by Kamal Kannan and the editing has been done by Sreekar Prasad. Bollywood music director Amit Trivedi is scoring the music for the flick. The movie is all set to hit theatres on October 2.
Sye Raa had made it to the headlines after its sets were gutted twice in the outskirts of Hyderabad. A couple of days ago, a group of people who identified themselves as the kin of Sye Raa, had staged a protest in front of Ram Charan’s office in Hyderabad for the second time, allegedly demanding money before the release of the movie. The protesters were later arrested by the Hyderabad police.
