The Villain is one of the hottest film releases in the Kannada film industry this year. Starring Shiva Rajkumar and Kiccha Sudeep in the lead roles and Amy Jackson as the heroine, the film is directed by Prem. Others in the star cast include Srikanth, Mithun Chakraborty and Sruthi Hariharan. Arjun Janya has composed tunes for this flick while Girish R Gowda has cranked the camera and Prakash Irbail has edited it. The film is bankrolled by CR Manohar under his banner Tanvi – Shanvi Films.

A high budget, multi-starrer movie that has been shot abroad, reports say the film will be a visual treat for movie buffs. We also hear that the film has been made on a huge budget, a big portion of which has been allocated for the graphics work. One of the most anticipated releases this season, The Villain’s release date has been set for October 11 to cash in on the Dussehra festival holidays. Reports from trade circles indicate that the film will be released in a record number of theatres in India.

With this being the scenario, Ragini Dwivedi’s The Terrorist is also getting ready for release on the same date. The film, directed by PC Shekar, is about some real life incidents based on terrorism and how it affects human lives. The title was reportedly chosen as the film is based on the 2008 serial blasts that rocked Bengaluru. The film went through the censor process recently and has been given a U/A certification. Ragini plays Reshma, a strong woman who fights against terrorism while trying to find a non-violent solution to it.

On clashing with The Villain, PC Shekar reportedly said that he was confident about the content of his film which he believes will bring audiences to the theatres. The technical crew of The Terrorist comprises S Pradeep Varma for music and Murali Krishna for cinematography.
