Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu is cashing in on several of his own successful films by working on their sequels. After Chennai 600028 sequel, he’s said to be interested in working on the sequel to 2008 Tamil comedy thriller, Saroja.
According to a report by Times of India, he’s said to have roped in actor-filmmaker S.J Suryah to play the lead. Having almost completed the shoot of Chennai 600028 II, Venkat has already started writing Saroja 2, but it’s not yet known whether he will retain the same cast from the original.
Apparently, Suryah is yet to be officially signed on for the project. As he’s busy acting for Mahesh Babu’s film and has allocated bulk dates, he’s not in a position to commit to a new project at this juncture in his career.
Saroja, inspired from English film Judgment Night, follows the journey of four young men who, while on a trip from Chennai to Hyderabad to watch a cricket match, come in contact with a gang that has kidnapped the daughter of a millionaire.
