Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday drew heavy criticism from the opposition Congress party and other people on social media after he took to Twitter and sent out a bunch of tweets to promote yoga, even as a terror attack was ongoing in Punjab's Pathankot area.
Addressing the Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, DNA quotes him as saying "I hope that you will integrate yoga and traditional Indian medicine more closely into our health care system. My vision for health care is an integrated system that understands and builds on the best and most effective of different traditions.”

However, this address occurred even as forces were fighting terrorists at the Pathankot Airforce Base in Punjab, and had already lost three army men.
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for talking about Yoga at a time when an encounter with terrorists was raging on at Pathankot Air Base.
Business as usual is all well & good but a speech about yoga while an encounter rages at an Air Base in #Pathankot seems totally out of sync

Sometimes when you live your life by spin, you get a little dazed and confused. PMO tweets on yoga during #PathankotAttack...

Some corrections which PMO and the official PM Twitter Account should make in the present context. Would they ? pic.twitter.com/GZ0sm1HCAd

I think the timing of this tweet is very wrong/inappropriate considering the pathankot attack https://t.co/37xVeEGrDu

It's in such a crisis the need for a Media Adviser to PM bcms glaring. MEA spokesman can't fill the breach & Def Ministry needs guidance. KP
