Recently, the makers of Ram Charan’s upcoming film announced its title as Rangasthalam 1985, which had his fans go gaga.

However, Ram Charan’s father and Tollywood 'mega star' Chiranjeevi isn’t pleased with the title. Reports doing rounds suggest that the title was announced without consulting the veteran actor, and he is not happy with it.

Chiranjeevi, on his return from China, was upset over the title Rangasthalam and had reasoned with the team that not many, particularly the younger audiences, would understand what it meant. With Chiranjeevi expressing his displeasure, there are chances that the title may be changed. Incidentally, this period drama was flagged off in February by Chiranjeevi in Hyderabad.

Presented by Surekha Konidela, the film is produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y. Ravi Shankar, Mohan Cherukuri, Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan under the banner Mythri Movie Makers.

The film has Samantha as the female lead and this is the first time the actor will be pairing up onscreen with Ram Charan.

Others in the star cast include Aadhi Pinisetty, Jagapati Babu and Rambha. Devi Sri Prasad is composing music for this flick with R Rathnavelu cranking the camera and Navin Nooli in charge of editing.

Set in a village, Rangasthalam will have Ram Charan playing a village lad for the first time in his career. This shift from a suave city guy that he has been portraying all these years will be a treat to watch, opine source close to the film unit. The film is directed by Sukumar.

The film’s shooting is going on at a breakneck speed and will be wrapped on time to ensure that it is out at the theatres for Sankaranti next year. In fact, Ram Charan had said that Sankaranti is his favourite time to have his movies released.
