Actor Sai Pallavi criticised popular Tamil entertainment magazine Cinema Vikatan for publishing a “cooked up” story relating to her change in dietary habits for her upcoming Hindu mythological film tentatively titled Ramayana. The actor threatened to take legal action against media organisations which publish unconfirmed news about her.

On December 10, Cinema Vikatan shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that Sai Pallavi had adopted a vegetarian diet and was avoiding restaurants, opting exclusively for home-cooked meals as a religious observance during the film’s shoot. The post speculated that these changes were tied to her preparation for the Bollywood project.

Responding strongly on Wednesday, December 11, Sai Pallavi wrote:

“Most of the times, Almost every-time, I choose to stay silent whenever I see baseless rumours/ fabricated lies/ incorrect statements being spread with or without motives(God knows) but it’s high-time that I react as it keeps happening consistently and doesn’t seem to cease; especially around the time of my films’ releases/ announcements/ cherish-able moments of my career!”

She further warned, “Next time I see any reputed page, media outlet, or individual publishing a cooked-up, baseless story in the name of news or gossip, you will hear from me legally. Period! I doubt your credibility.”

The mythological drama is reportedly Sai Pallavi’s Bollywood debut, with actor Ranbir Kapoor rumored to star opposite her. However, official details about the project are yet to be announced.
