Actor Madhubala returned back to the limelight in the year 2008 with the Bollywood flick Kabhi Socha Bhi Na Tha and has been bagging some impressive roles since then. Her last Tamil film was Balaji Mohan’s Vaayai Moodi Pesavum in 2014 and after four years she is all set to stage a comeback to Kollywood with Agni Dev.

Wielding the megaphone for the venture will be the director duo John Paul Raj and Sham Surya. Bobby Simha will be seen playing the main lead with Ramya Nambeesan as his lead pair. Besides Madhu playing a pivotal role in it, the star cast also includes Sathish to offer comic relief. Touted to be a political crime thriller, Agni Dev is touted to be based on a popular novel. The film official pooja happened recently and the shooting began in Coimbatore, where a major portion of it will be canned.

Madhoo, who made her acting debut with the K Balachander directorial Azhagan in 1991 went on to carve a niche for herself with Mani Ratnam’s Roja, in which she had the title role, the eponymous village girl who turns into a resolute woman amid the snow-clad peaks of Kashmir. 

Having had an impressive career by starring in various films in different languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi, she took a short break in her career post marriage in 2001.

Madhubala has been roped in to play Rachita Ram’s mom in the upcoming Kannada movie Seetharama Kalyana, which has Nikhil Gowda plays the male lead. Son of the Karanataka Chief Minister of Karnataka Kumaraswamy.

Madhubala’s role in Seetharama Kalyana is said to be meaty and performance-oriented. Girija Lokesh will be seen playing Rachita Ram’s grandmother and Madhoo’s mother in this commercial entertainer.
