Kannada star V Ravichandran had inked a deal to star in a film titled Aa Drushya and the shooting was completed within 30 days. An interesting feature of Aa Drushya is that it will feature Ravichandran in the role of a cop. Also, for the first time in his career, the actor will not have a female lead starring opposite him.
The title Aa Drushya had given rise to speculation that the movie might be a sequel to Drishya, which had Ravichandran in the lead. However, Aa Drushya’s director Shiva Ganesh has made it clear that it is a fresh subject. Speaking about the film in an interview to Cinema Express, the director recently said, “It is a known fact that romance and Ravichandran go hand in hand. However, this particular subject did not require songs and a heroine. Moreover, the film will show a new dimension of the actor. He was initially worried about how the audience would react, but when we started shooting, he was convinced about the decision.”
Also, we hear that Ravichandran will be seen in two different get-ups in the film. He will be seen playing a retired police officer trying to crack unsolved cases. This requires the star to appear as a 25-year-old and reports say that he designed the look for it himself.
About the film’s story, the director said, “This is a story of a 50-year-old retired cop, who narrates a case that happened when he was on duty. The story takes place in one day. How the daily activities of the cop get affected due to the lack of basic communication is the gist of the film.”
On working with the veteran actor, the director said that Ravichandran helped him with a few shots and even operated the camera to shoot the scenes. He was also thankful to the star for his valuable advice during the course of filmmaking. The star cast of Aa Drushya includes Achyuth Kumar, Chaitra Achar and Nisarga. The film is produced by K Manju under his banner with Gautham Srivastav scoring the music.
