Reports were that Kandireega and Rabhasa director Santhosh Srinivas would direct Pawan Kalyan’s next. However, things took a different turn with the Power Star busy with his political assignments following which, the project has been put in cold storage.

Currently, buzz is that the director may team up with Ravi Teja. According to sources, the director managed to convince the star with the storyline and Mythri Movie Makers, which was supposed to bankroll the Santhosh Srinivas – Pawan Kalyan project will be producing the new venture with Ravi Teja. Enquiries about this film revealed that it could be a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Theri, which had Vijay playing the lead. Incidentally, Theri, which was directed by Atlee, was dubbed in Telugu and released under the title Policeodu. The film had Samantha and Amy Jackson playing the female leads.

While the groundwork to get this film onto the floors is on, Ravi Teja is busy wrapping up his current project Amar Akbar Anthony. Produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y. Ravi Shankar, and Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) under the banner Mythri Movie Makers, the film is being shot in the US and the team is currently stationed there.

Directed by Srinu Vaitla, Amar Akbar Anthony stars Ravi Teja in the lead role with Anu Emmanuel playing his lead pair. Those in the supporting roles in this flick include Vikramjeet Virk, Tarun Arora, Adhithya, Sijoy Varghese, Abhimanyu Singh, Sunil, Srinivasa Reddy, Sayaji Shinde, Vennela Kishore, Divya Unni and Jayaprakash Reddy. S Thaman has composed music for this venture with Venkat C Dileep wielding the camera and MR Varma editing the film.

With Ravi Teja still in the US, shooting for Amar Akbar Anthony, more details about his film with Santhosh Srinivas is expected on his return.
