In Shivaji Surathkal – The Case of Ranagiri Rahasya, Ramesh Aravind and Radhika Narayan play the lead pair. While it was announced that Ramesh Aravind will be playing the titular role, an investigating officer in the state crime branch, it was recently revealed that Radhika will be seen as Janani, his wife who is an advocate.
One of the song sequences in the film featuring the lead pair was shot in Mysuru recently and the splendour of the palace town will be the highlight, say sources close to the team. The song has been shot in places like the Mysuru Palace, Chamundeshwari Temple and KR Circle. Judah Sandhy has composed the music for this song with Jayant Kailini penning the lyrics.
On shooting the song at live locations amidst crowds taken by surprise, its director Akash Srivatsa said in an interview to Cinema Express, “At first, people wouldn’t know what was happening. Only after Ramesh Aravind made an appearance in a police uniform did they realise that it is a film shoot. But then, a retake would be near impossible because the crowd would be really hard to control. They would be too busy taking selfies with him.”
On the character played by Ramesh Aravind, Akash had said earlier, “Shivaji is the ablest investigating officer in the state crime branch. With a razor-sharp mind and an uncanny ability to analyse a crime, Shivaji is the department’s first choice for high-profile cases. His unorthodox methods of deduction coupled with his unique ability to re-imagine the events leading up to the crime is what Ramesh will portray.”
The shooting of the film has been completed and it is currently in the post production mode. Bankrolled under the banner Anjanadri Cine Creations, the film is likely to hit the marquee this year. Aarohi Narayan and Raghavendra Govinda have been included in the star cast in supporting roles. Abhijith has penned the story in association with the director, while the camerawork has been handled by Guruprasad MG.
The release date of the movie is expected to be revealed soon.
