Telugu film Majili is all set for a big release on April 5. Expectations on the project are high as real life couple Samantha and Naga Chaitanya play the lead roles in their first film together after they got married.
Speaking about the film and sharing screen space with her husband, Samantha told Deccan Chronicle in an interview, “We actually did not want to do a film together, especially a love story, after being married for two years. Honestly, I thought that if we did a love story now, not many people would watch it. And that is when director Shiva Nirvana approached us with this story. The film not just expounds the husband-wife relationship, it focuses on families as a whole. The director has included a lot of beautiful moments and I feel truly blessed to be a part of Majili.”
Majili is directed by Shiva Nirvana, who has also penned the story and dialogues. The music for the film is composed by Gopi Sunder.
Samantha also stated that she is proud of her husband’s performance in the film, saying it will be a milestone in his career. “We especially discussed the climax beforehand. I’ve seen the film and I feel proud of Chay for his performance. He has improved leaps and bounds as an actor and this is his best performance so far. For both Chay and Shiva, this film is going to be a milestone in their careers,” she said.
In one of the posters released earlier, Naga Chaitanya is seen as a cricketer celebrating a victory and Divyansha Kaushik hugging him. From the poster, it is evident that the hero plays a cricketer and Majili could possibly be a sports-based drama.
Fans are awaiting this film eagerly as it brings back Naga Chaitanya and Samantha together for the fourth time. The couple has shared screen space in three films earlier – Ye Maaya Chesave, Manam and Autonagar Surya.
With just a few more days to go for the release, the wait for Majili is almost over.
