Actor Kalabhavan Shajohn is all set to make his directorial debut with Brother’s Day, a Malayalam movie that will have Prithviraj Sukumaran playing the lead role. The project was announced some time ago and it is now all set to be launched today. Touted to be a commercial entertainer, Brother’s Day will be launched at the St Antony’s Shrine, Kaloor in Kochi. Listin Stephen will be bankrolling the film under his banner Magic Frames on a budget of Rs 15 crore.
Reports are that Kalabhavan Shajohn had approached Prithviraj a couple of years ago with this impressive script and wanted to know who would be the right choice to wield the megaphone for it. And on Prithviraj’s suggestion he decided to helm the project himself. Details about the rest of the star cast and crew of this film are expected to be revealed soon.
While Prithviraj is getting ready to get on the sets of Brother’s Day, his directorial debut Lucifer is gearing up for release on March 28. The film is currently in the post production mode. The team is also keeping up the momentum by releasing the character posters of each actor as a part of the promos. This has increased the expectation levels for Lucifer.
Lucifer has Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith, and the Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi in pivotal roles. Those in the supporting roles include Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, Saniya Iyappan, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas, Nyla Usha and Mala Parvathy.
The technical crew of the film comprises Sujith Vasudevan for cinematography and Samjith for editing while Stephen Devassy is in charge of the music. Veteran writer and actor Murali Gopy has penned the script for Lucifer, which is touted to be a political thriller. Apparently, Mohanlal plays a politician in the film. It is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
