Director Lokesh Kanagaraj suffered injuries on his leg while taking part in a promo event for his recent Tamil film Leo starring Vijay at a movie hall in Kerala’s Palakkad on Tuesday, October 24. He was scheduled to visit Thrissur and Kochi and return home to Chennai later in the day, but the plan was cut short due to the injury.
By the time Lokesh arrived at the movie hall, a massive crowd of people had already gathered to have a glimpse of the director. His plans to visit the other places went awry after the fans turned delirious and made a mad rush to come close to the director to take selfies which created a stampede. Soon the police started chasing fans and in the melee, Lokesh suffered injuries to his leg.
It was with great difficulty that the police managed to bring things under control. Following the injury, Lokesh cancelled his plans to visit Thrissur and Kochi and returned to Chennai. He has, however, promised that he will return to Kerala as part of promoting the Vijay starrer.
“Thank you Kerala for your love.. Overwhelmed, happy and grateful to see you all in Palakkad. Due to a small injury in the crowd, I couldn’t make it to the other two venues and the press meeting. I would certainly come back to meet you all in Kerala again soon. Till then continue enjoying #Leo with the same love,” he posted on social media.
