Kiccha Sudeep has quashed rumours about his next directorial. Reports surfaced a few weeks ago that Sudeep will be wielding the megaphone for a remake but the actor-filmmaker has clarified through his social media handle that it is not so. He wrote online, “Just a clarification on the news that's doing rounds. It’s an original script and something my team and I am excited about. Hoping to hit the floors soon.”

It may be noted that reports emerged that the Kannada remake rights of the hit Telugu movie Bharat Ane Nenu have been bagged by Kiccha Sudeep. With the clarification from Sudeep himself, this rumour has been laid to rest. Sudeep has so far directed My Autograph, No 73, Shanthi Nivasa, Veera Madakari, Just Maath Maathalli, Kempe Gowda, and Maanikya.

The actor is currently busy with the Kannada movie Kotigobba 3. While Sudeep himself had penned Kotigobba 3, it is being directed by debutant Shiva Karthik. Arjun Janya is composing music for this venture while Shekar Chandru is handling the camera. Madonna Sebastian will be playing the female lead in this flick with Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani in an important role.

Sudeep also has the Malayalam film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham waiting for release next year besides the Bollywood flick Dabangg 3. Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, which has Mohanlal in the lead role, is based on the true-life of Kunjali Marakkar IV, who was the most popular of the Marakkars. The film is directed by Priyadarshan and is produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T. Kuruvilla and C.J. Roy under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment on a very high budget. Reports are that it is one of the costliest films to be made in Mollywood till date.
