There is going to be a biopic on legendary actor Sathyan and Jayasurya will be playing the lead. During the 48th death anniversary observation of the actor in Thiruvananthapuram, it was revealed that Vijay Babu’s Friday Film House will be bankrolling the venture. Ratheesh Raghunandan will be making his debut as director with this biopic and the scripting has been done by BT Anil Kumar and KG Santosh.

KG Santhosh in an interview to the New Indian Express recalled, “My father used to be a police officer in Alappuzha. For him and many others, Sathyan is still alive—not as the actor, but as the police inspector who once worked in Alappuzha.” On getting Jayasurya on board this project, he said, “Jayasurya was so excited that he told us not to worry about finding a producer. He suggested Vijay Babu’s name, who got equally excited after hearing it.”

The scriptwriter said that the film will explore hitherto unknown facts about Sathyan. “Naturally, the script was developed after consulting with the actor’s family members,” says Santosh. “Sathyan was a man who experienced several conflicts, both internally and externally. We went through a lot of books and talked to several people to gather the material we needed.”

It may be noted here that Jayasurya’s next film in the pipeline, besides this biopic, will be with director Prasobh Vijayan of Lilli fame. The film will have Shruti Ramachandran playing the female lead and will be bankrolled jointly by Mukesh R Mehta, AV Anoop and CV Sarathi under the banner of E4 Entertainment. The project started to roll recently with the official pooja. The technical crew of this film includes Francis Thomas for scripting, Ratheesh Ravi for dialogues, Anarsha for camera work, Jakes Bejoy for music and Vishnu Govind and Sree Sankar of Sound Factory for sound designing.
