Over the last few weeks, there’s been lot of speculation around the music composer of Ajith’s Viswasam, his fourth outing with director Siva. Although the makers officially announced that Yuvan Shankar Raja has been signed on, there are rumours that he might be replaced by Anirudh Ravichander, who had delivered two blockbusters Vedalam and Vivegam with Siva-Ajith combo. A section of media also reported that Vikram Vedha composer Sam CS might also be an option and the makers are seriously considering him. The young composer has clarified via a tweet that he’s no longer part of the project. However, he’s confident he will work with Ajith in the future.

In a tweet, he wrote: “I’m overwhelmed by the wishes pouring in. Talks were on, but I don’t know yet if I’m doing Viswasam. I’m a big Thala fan and I’ll definitely do a Thala film in the future and give fiery background music. Meanwhile, some exciting news coming up. Stay tuned.” After his stellar work in Vikram Vedha, Sam caught the attention of a lot of producers and actors who expressed their interest to work with him.

Rumoured to be a full-length rural-based subject, Thala 58 could also be a sequel to Siva’s own Veeram, which was also remade in Telugu as Katamarayudu. However, the rumour is yet to be officially confirmed.

Apparently, Ajith wanted a rural script as he wants to cover the masses which he couldn’t via Vivegam which bombed at the box-office. To be produced by Sathya Jyothi Films on a moderate budget, the film is being planned as a Diwali 2018 release. It will lock horns at the box-office with Vijay-Murugadoss film and Suriya’s next yet-untitled outing with director Selvaraghavan.
