Produced and directed by S Krishna, Phailwan marks his collaboration for the second time with Sudeep after the massive success of Hebbuli last year. Incidentally, S Krishna will be making his debut as producer with Phailwan by making it under his banner RRR Productions.
Sudeep plays a boxer and wrestler in this flick and being his first ever sports drama, he did undergo a lot of training to learn the nuances of the martial arts. The actor flew down to Thailand where he underwent rigorous training under the guidance of some experts. Arjun Janya has been roped in to compose the tunes for Phailwan while Karunakar will be cranking the camera.
Kiccha Sudeep’s Phailwan caught the attention of film buffs after the film’s teaser was released some time ago. The massive response for the teaser prompted the filmmakers to release the film’s Hindi version in theatres.
Earlier, the plan was to release the Hindi versions only on the digital platforms and YouTube but now it will be out at theatres; thanks to the immense popularity Sudeep enjoys across the country. Sources in the know say that three production houses are in fray to bag the theatrical rights of this film and an official word would be out once the deal is struck.
