Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi is furious about his look from the upcoming film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy getting leaked online.
In the leaked pic, which went viral immediately after it appeared online, the star is seen sporting long hair. Though the filmmakers are working towards removing all the leaked pics from the websites, it has spread like wildfire.
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a biopic on the late freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who fought the British valiantly much before the Sepoy Mutiny. He was eventually hanged to death by the British government.
Sye Raa, directed by Surendar Reddy, is bankrolled by Chiru’s son Ram Charan Teja under his banner Konidela Production Company on a budget of around Rs 150 crore. The film’s director has done thorough research on the late freedom fighter and the film is based on the book, Life of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
The biopic has an impressive star cast that includes Chiranjeevi as Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, Vijay Sethupathi as Obbaya, the trusted aide of Narasimha Reddy, Jagapathi Babu, Sudeep, Nayanthara, Pragya Jaiswal and Brahmaji. Sye Raa is a multi-lingual film that is being made in three languages – Telugu, Hindi and Tamil.
Noted writing duo Paruchuri Brothers have penned the story, with Sai Madhav Burra penning the dialogues and director Surendar Reddy in charge of the screenplay. Earlier, Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman was signed to compose tunes for this historical film, but he opted out over date clashes.
It may be mentioned here that Chiru staged a comeback to filmdom last year with Khaidi No: 150, which was his 150th film. It went on to become a huge hit and Chiru announced that his 151st film would be a biopic on Uyyalawada Narasimha Rao.
It’s been Chiranjeevi’s long-time desire to play a historic character. Sye Raa was announced early last year with the official pooja happening in August and shooting commencing late last year. The motion poster and title of Sye Raa was unveiled last year on 22 August to coincide with Chiranjeevi’s birthday.
