Actor Nazriya Nazim Fahadh issued a public statement on Wednesday, April 16, acknowledging her prolonged absence and emotional withdrawal from friends, colleagues, and the film industry. The actor shared that she has been grappling with emotional and personal challenges, which led her to shut down and isolate herself.
In her statement, Nazriya apologised for going silent, missing key personal and professional moments—including her 30th birthday, New Year celebrations, and the success of her recent film Sookshmadarshini. “I also want to apologise to all my friends for not explaining why I went missing and for not picking up calls or responding to messages,” she wrote.
“I'm truly sorry for any worry or inconvenience I may have caused. I did shut down completely. I also want to extend my apologies to all my colleagues who have been trying to reach me for work. I've been absent and I'm sorry for any disruptions this may have caused,” the statement read.
Despite her personal struggles, Nazriya expressed gratitude for being recognised with the Kerala Film Critics Award for Best Actor.
Nazriya assured fans and well-wishers that she is on the path to healing and recovery. “It’s been a tough journey, but I want you to know that I’m working on healing and getting better every day… I may need a bit more time to fully return, but I promise I’m on the path to recovery,” she said.
Nazriya concluded by saying that she issued a public statement about her health as she felt that she owes an explanation to her family, friends and fans.
