Even two days after Ram Gopal Varma’s tweet on Malayalam actor Mammootty and his son Dulquer Salman stirred up a controversy, and RGV himself sent an apology tweet to Dulquer on Friday, the issue does not seem to have died down.RGV had on Wednesday tweeted saying that Mammootty is a junior artist compared to his son Dulquer. He made the remarks after watching Mani Ratnam’s latest release O Kadhal Kanmani.Malayala Manorama then decided to dig a little deeper into the issue. According the paper, it all started in 1998 when Ram Gopal Varma, in an interview to Filmfare magazine said that his remake of the 1975 blockbuster film Sholay will have Ajay Devgan and Mammootty in the lead roles. In an interview with a popular television channel, Mammootty is said to have declined the offer citing disinterest in the film. Nine years later in 2007, his remake of Sholay titled Aag fared pathetic at the box office.
