From an adult star to a Bollywood actress, Sunny Leone is steadily climbing up the success ladder in the entertainment industry. But from police complaints to petitions, controversy never seems to let go off the actress.NDTV reported that a police complaint was filed by a Mumbai housewife against Sunny Leone, who alleged that she found pornographic material of the actress while surfing the internet. She has demanded that the website be shut and claims that such photographs can lead to rape. The report also states that charges have been filed under the Information Technology Act for circulating obscene content on the Internet along with being charged under the Indecent Representation of Women Act.The Hindu noted that the complainant is also a member of the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS) and has demanded Leone’s deportation. On May 8, The Times of India stated that a resident of Margao, Arun Parulekar, lodged a complaint against the “Kuch Kuch Locha Hai” actress. The complaint claims that her website contains pornographic images and videos of herself which is free for all and shows the criminal intention of Leone.Leone was on a promotional visit to Surat for the film “Ek Paheli Leela” in March, when a local filed an FIR against her. According to a report by Mid-Day the local thought that Sunny was in town for a different motive. The reason behind the chaos was attributed to her topless snapshots from a private party, that had gone viral last April, hosted by a Surat-based diamond merchant.A petition launched in March 2014 urges the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment asks for a law that “prohibits porn stars from becoming public figures” and asks for a ban on Leone’s entry into the country, reports Scroll.in. As her popularity rises, the petition has received a little over a 100 signatures so far. After Kamaal R Khan alleged that the former porn star tweeted, “Rape is not a crime, it’s surprise sex,” he lodged a complaint against her in 2013. The Indian Express reported that she denied the comment and the tweet was falsely attributed to her by Khan and even filed a complaint against him in turn.In 2012, a PIL was filed by an activist Rakesh Nayayik from Varanasi who claims that the content of the film Jism 2 was too explicit and made an even bigger deal of it because of the fact that Sunny Leone was involved in it. The petition was filed at the Allahabad High Court and challenged the film’s release even before it was cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification as stated by The Times of India. Also watch: Video: Sunny Leone responds to the mean things said about her on social media
