It is much debated that Australian actor Heath Ledger's role as the Joker in The Dark Knight may have pushed him off the edge, resulting in his death by an accidental overdose of pills.

Bits of a documentary based on Ledger's life that resurfaced recently, show excerpts from his diary that he wrote in, when he locked himself in a room and was preparing for his role.

Titled 'Heath Ledger: Too Young To Die,' the diary even has a chilling sign off, with the words "Bye Bye" scrawled at the end by Ledger. This was just a few months before he passed away, a report in The Daily Mail adds.

One of the brief clips from the movie shows Ledger's father skimming through the pages of the diary and talking about the actor's self imposed solitary confinement for a month to get into character.

The diary also indicates that Ledger took a lot of inspiration from Malcolm McDowell's character of 'Alex' in Stanely Kubrick's 'A Clockwork Orange.'
