The News Minute| November 8, 2014| 6.00 pm ISTThe biggest disappointment for Burger King Fans could possibly be the exclusion of beef burgers in India. The American fast food chain will soon be entering multiple cities in the country and burger fans have already been hounding their Facebook page to disallow them from denying them this meat privilege. For that very reason, some have gone to the extent to sign a Change.org campaign to bring the red meat whoppers to be sold in the country. The meat for the whopper which is their signature beef burger has been replaced with chicken, mutton and vegetarian equivalents. Like many other international food chains currently running in the country, Burger King has claimed to bring in some new desi flavours specially designed for the Indian audience. What Burger King refuses to understand is that many Indians are no longer dhoti-clad gandhians who stick to a shakahaari diet anymore but are globetrotting individuals who have got accustomed to relish internationally known and loved meats. Well there are certain things that even we don’t have answers to. But as a fun exercise, we thought of hunting down some exotic meaty alternatives that are consumed as burgers the world over.Alpaca Meat BurgersAlpaca’s are found in South America and though they might look goofy they are considered to be a healthy and flavourful meatAnd for those who have never seen Alpaca burger, this is what they look like. Crocodile Meat burgersA meat that is low on fat and cholesterol but very high on protein, a tasty alternative to that protein shake.Horse Meat BurgerSome say Horse meat tastes similar to beef.Kangaroo Meat BurgerSupposedly there are more Kangaroos than people in Australia and there are more beef eaters than cows in India considering our population of course!
