Xiaomi would normally use its own channels to launch its products in India. It has its offline Mi stores across the country and its active website, which allows sale of its various products. But the company has now decided to tie up with an electronics chain, Vijay Sales, for introducing its new TV, the Mi LED TV 4 PRO. It would be an offline only exclusive in the arrangement between the companies. The new TV will be sold through the 80-odd Vijay Sales stores throughout.

The Mi LED TV 4 PRO has a 55-inch screen and the TV is described as ultra-thin. The LED display offers a 3840 x 2160 4K resolution and there is a 10-bit HDR panel as well. The 4.9mm thin profile makes this TV one of the thinnest models you will find in the market. Xiaomi in fact claims it is the thinnest. The TV comes with a dual 16W stereo speaker set-up and boasts of DTS-HD surround sound for an immersive cinematic experience. The TV is equipped with a unique voice search feature to conveniently search and discover consumers’ preferred content across DTH as well as online content.

Speaking of content, Xiaomi's proprietary technology, PatchWall interface which the Chinese company has developed with the Indian market in mind, is being deployed in this TV. This has a number of content providers on board and a humongous 850,000+ hours of content from such sources as Hotstar, Hungama Play, Voot, Eros Now, Zee5, Alt Balaji, HOOQ, EpicON, Republic, Bloomberg, SunNXT, Flickstree and Viu.   

As mentioned, Vijay Sales will be making this 55-inch ultra-thin LED TV available in over 80 of its stores spread across Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat and Delhi NCR starting Friday, 7 June 2019. Xiaomi became the number one smart TV brand in India and continues to enjoy the leadership three consecutive quarters on. Xiaomi has grown to capture nearly 20% market share within the offline segment.
