Sony launches VR PlayStation games and new versions of God of War, Call of Duty at E3 2017

Trailers of at least three VR-enabled games were shown in the E3 2017.

Right after Microsoft revealed an all new X Box One X, Sony took center stage at the E3 2017 and showcased its proposed offerings in the gaming zone on its PlayStations. Sony did not make any new announcement on its hardware.

The latest PlayStation Pro or PS4 Pro was introduced only in November last and if one were to go by the statements by Sony’s senior executives they are actually unable to meet the demand for their PS4 and PS4 Pro devices from the market.

They are just about delivering them leaving no inventory to worry about. So, it is the games that they spent all their time on at the E3 event this year.

God of War with a New Theme

One of the most popular games on PS4, God of War is being released with a new storyline that has Norse mythology and a trailer showed at the event revealed that the game developers have introduced a new character Atreus, Kratos’ son and the game’s theme is wound around the father-son relationship and so on. God of War can be played exclusively only on PS4 and PS4 Pro. Those eagerly awaiting to start playing the game, will have to wait at least till the first quarter of 2018 for its release.

Unchartered: The Lost Legacy – Set in Indian Conditions

This might sound fascinating for gaming enthusiasts back home in India, since the game’s whole background and setting are India-centric. The storyline of the game, in which you can play one of the characters, Chloe Frazer or Nadine Ross and go searching for a lost tusk of Ganesh. This game is expected to be released much sooner, on August 22.

All New Features in Call of Duty: WWII

This is another immersive game and a favorite with the PS4 gamers. The game’s developers have brought in a lot of graphics and improvements and most crucial theater of the Second World War have been covered in this new release of the Call of Duty: WWII game. The close encounters re-enacting the war with you shooting down the enemy and all such gameplays will leave you totally impressed.

PlayStation Gets the VR Boost

Sony did not leave out demonstrating the inclusion of virtual reality (VR) in some of the games played on PlayStation. The trailers of at least three such games were shown in the E3 2017 event to showcase the fun element of playing the games on its console. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one such game. Sony is yet to announce the exact date of release of the game. Final Fantasy XV and Star Child were some of the other game titles which will feature the VR experience for the users in the days to come.

There were also many other new games and older titles with many new gameplays and improved features showcased at the event.
