Here’s a smartphone that has no physical buttons or even holes. Meizu, the Chinese phone maker has come up with a model that it has appropriately named Meizu Zero. Smartphone generally come with volume rockers, a power on/off button and the openings for the speaker, camera and so on. Meizu Zero has none of these. And that is the highlight of this new phone.

So, how does Meizu go about providing these functions on its device? For increasing/decreasing the volume, the device has been built with a capacitive panel on the sides of the phone. The power button to switch the phone off from the working mode and to switch it back on has also been accommodated on these panels. A piezoelectric transducer embedded below the display does the job of the speaker and since there is no 3.5mm jack, the phone is charged with a wireless charging facility. If you were wondering how you would be able to transfer data from the phone to another device or vice-versa, then Bluetooth is the answer. And the most important of all, the SIM tray too has been dispensed with. You can use the Meizu Zero smartphone only with an e-SIM. Hence, there are zero buttons, zero holes in the Meizu Zero.

Now on to the main specifications of the device. The display will be 5.99-inch in size with a full HD+ AMOLED display. The screen resolution is 1080x2160pixels. And a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845SoC is the processor fitted on this phone. There is still some confusion on the exact version of the Android OS but the UI Flyme 7 is the skin riding on it.

The camera section has a dual 12MP primary and 20MP secondary camera and the front selfie camera is 20MP. There is adequate technological support including AI to help deliver top rated experience in photography.

The other details known about this phone include the IP68 certification it has received for dust and water resistance and that the wireless charging will be done through a 18W charger, that is rated super-fast.
