
Meizu, the Chinese smartphone maker has just launched in its home market, the Meizu 16s. The phone comes with some high-end specs and features but is priced quite moderately.
The display in the Meizu 16s is 6.2 inches in size and has an aspect ratio of 18.6:9. The overall dimensions of the phone are 151.9mmx73.4mmx7.6mm and its weight 165 grams. The full HD+ AMOLED display has a screen resolution of 1080x2340pixels. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855SoC is the main processor and the Adreno 640 the GPU for graphics. The RAM support too, is quite impressive at 6GB with a higher 8GB variant to boot. The internal storage has two variants 128GB and 256GB. The Android Pie version 9 will be the OS with the Flyme 7.3 skin riding over it as the UI.
The camera section also boasts of a 48MP sensor in a dual camera setting with a 20MP shooter as the secondary sensor. In the front, for selfies there is a 20MP wide-angle camera. There is adequate AI support for the camera functions. The Meizu 16s has a 3600mAh battery.
With regard to the connectivity options you can count on Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5, GPS and NFC and the onboard sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, in-display fingerprint scanner, infrared sensor and proximity sensor.
Condensed White, Carbon Black, and Phantom Blue are the three colours in which the phone can be purchased. Sale starts April 28
Meizu has announced this new offering only for the Chinese market as of now. They may release in other geographies progressively. The prices for the home market and their equivalent value in Indian currency are as below;
