Telugu actress Aarthi Agarwal is no more. The 31-year-old actor died due to cardiac arrest, after complications from a liposuction surgery failure in New Jersey. The young actress who has acted in 21 Telugu, Tamil and Hindi movies died in her birthplace just a day after her latest Telugu film "Ranam 2" in Telugu was released. Aarthi was born on March 5, 1984 to a Gujarati family in New Jersey in the United States. At a very young age, she showed talent as she was spotted by actor Sunil Shetty when she was 14 years old. Sunil Shetty invited her to dance on stage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and one of the first things he did after her performance, asking her father to encourage her take up acting. However, the movie did not do very well and so she moved to Tollywood and made her famous Telugu debut with "Nuvu Naaku Nachav" in 2001. She also did two other Telugu films that year including "Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu", which also did quite well. Her career as an actress gained momentum in Tollywood in 2002 when she did four films that year including "Allari Ramudu" starring Jr NTR and "Indra" starring Chiranjeevi. She did three films in 2003 - Palnati Brahmanayudu opposite Balakrishna, Vasantam opposite Venkatesh and Veede, which was a remake of the Tamil film "Dhool", opposite Ravi Teja. She was one of the few non-Telugu speaking actresses who went on to work with some of the biggest Tollywood stars and she 2004 turned out to be an excellent year for her too with movies like Nenunnanu starring Nagarjuna and Adavi Ramudu starring Prabhas, besides a bunch of cameo appearances. In 2005, Aarthi acted in five movies, including a Tamil film "Bambara Kannaley". It was here that things began to go downhill. After doing just one movie, "Andalu Ramudu" which was the remake of Tamil film "Sundara Purushan". Aarthi did not get a single offer in 2007. Aarthi had succumbed to the profession and become one of the many young Telugu actresses who were battling depression and obesity after hitting a rough patch in their acting careers. In fact, Aarthi is believed to have tried to commit suicide in March 2005 at her home in Hyderabad after she was also allegedly romantically linked to a Tollywood actor which ended bitterly, a report in The Hindu adds. In 2007, Aarti also married Ujjwal Kumar, an NRI but the marriage hardly lasted a few weeks resulting in divorce. From 2008 to 2015 she worked in only four films and was almost forgotten. Aarthi after shooting for, "Ranam 2", moved back to Atlantic City, New Jersey where she decided to undergo a liposuction surgery. However, post-surgery she is reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest while recuperating at a hospital in Atlantic City, New Jersey resulting in the death of the 31-year-old.
