You slayed my dad, spare my mom: TP Chandrasekharan’s son appeals
Written by:

Abhinand R Chandrasekhar -son of slain RMP leader TP Chandrasekharan- took to Facebook on Saturday to plead for his mother’s life in the backdrop of a CPI(M) attack on his mother KK Rema who is also the RMP candidate from Vadakara constituency in Kozhikode.

Rema was reportedly attacked by CPI(M) activists on May 15. She was also threatened with murder. This made Abhinand appeal to all those out to destroy his family that his mother be spared from such threats and political rivalry: “Spare my mother in my name. I need her to be alive and with me to enable me to lead my life in memory of my father.”

Recounting the days spent with his father till the age of 17, Abhinand recalls that the stories his father narrated to him were real life political accounts of revolutionaries who fought for great causes. “Those were the only stories he could tell,” Abhinand writes.

“She used to tell me with courage that my father is still alive, that we will fulfill everything he stood for. But I saw a different mother at the hospital bed today. She isn’t scared, I am sure. After all, she was wife to my father. But she is indeed disturbed. She might also be concerned about my well-being, which she cannot share with anybody else,” he shares.

He also adds that even while on the hospital bed, Rema reiterated late Chandrasekharan’s words of the need to keep calm and advised him against reaping political benefits over the incident. In the post, he also went on to question whether his father’s mistake was to point out the flaws in an organization.

“What wrong did my father commit? What wrong have I done to you? Aren’t all the threats of slaying my mother directed towards me?” he asks.
