
The Karnataka government has chosen 62 personalities for the annual Karnataka Rajyotsava Award for 2017.
The awardees include several eminent personalities from various fields including law, arts, social service, journalism, sports, science and education.
Among them are historian Ramachandra Guha, Carnatic musician and playback singer KJ Yesudas, and writer Vaidehi and actor Mukhyamantri Chandru.
The list was announced on Monday by the Minister for Kannada and Culture Umashree.
The award ceremony will take place on November 1, which is Kannada Rajyotsava, at the Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will present the awards to the recipients. The award will include ₹1 lakh, gold medal, and a citation.
