Xiaomi is speculated to be gearing itself to launch its next flagship the Mi Mix 2s, the successor to Mi Mix 2 and if one goes by the renders and various leaks, it could be a high-end smartphone with some top features.

Whatever has come into public domain remain leaks and guesses and Xiaomi has not confirmed or denied any of these details.

The display on the Mi Mix 2s is being predicted to be 5.99 inches and it would be a full screen display and although the aspect ratio is not disclosed, it is being speculated that the width of the bezels on this phone would be even narrower than the predecessor, Mi Mix 2.

The renders and leaks indicate that some of the design features resemble the iPhone X. The “swipe and pause” feature for display of the recently used apps is cited as one example. Two more features are pointed out; one is the under-display fingerprint sensor and an in-built AI based technology that facilitates facial recognition. One difference could be that the navigation is through gestures rather than using the buttons as provided on the iPhone X.

The major differentiator could be in the area of the processor, which, according to these leaks, will be the latest generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. Adding to this might be a massive 8GB RAM. The internal storage is likely to be 256GB.

With regard to the optics section, the rear camera setup is expected to be a dual-sensor one, with 2x 12MP cameras which are likely to be based on the Sony IMX363 sensor. There would be an LED flash to support this. The expectation is that Xiaomi may launch the Mi Mix 2s just ahead of the MWC 2018. However, there is no official confirmation on this either.
