The News Minute | December 21, 2014 | 10.31 pm IST The opposition BJP continued its protests on Saturday in both Assembly and Council demanding the resignation of three Congress MLAs who have corruption charges against them. The proceedings of both the Houses were adjourned sine die for the second time in a row as the BJP MLAs led by KS Eshwarappa and Jagdish Shettar staged dharna inside the House, reported Deccan Herald. Congress MLAs Dinesh Gundo Rao, Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Qamarul Islam handling the ministry of Minorities Development Qamarul Islam, and Cooperation Minister H S Mahadev Prasad have land grabbing charges against them. "The government should have allowed a discussion if the ministers are innocent. Bit it shied away as it is unable to defend them (the ministers)," the newspaper quoted Jagdish Shettar. Since the commencement of the winter session in Belagavi, neither the Assembly nor the Council have done any substantive business in the House. Furore over sugarcane prices, mud-slinging over use of mobile phones to watch images and videos and demand for resignation of tainted ministers have disrupted proceedings in the winter session.
