The News Minute | February 2, 2015 | 12.15 pm IST Thrissur police commisisoner will submit a report to the Distrcit Collector to use Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA) against Beedi tycoon Mohammed Nisham who has been charged with murder of 50-year-old Chandrabose, a security guard at an apartment in Thrissur. Thrissur city police has found that there are 13 registered cases against Nisham, of which a case of sexual assault filed by Bengaluru model and murder attempt of a businessman in Thrissur are major ones. “Though some of the cases have been settled by Nisham out of court, there are enough pending cases to charge KAAPA. Today we will submit the report” Thrissur police Commissioner R Nishanthini told The News Minute. Earlier media reports had said that Nisham may not be charged KAAPA as some cases against him were closed in a hurry last week, leaving no room to prove that he is a repeat offender. Meanwhile Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has assured that Nisham will get the maximum punishment. He has also told media there will not be any flaws in the enquiry.Tweet
