If anyone can pull off a song about angels lonely for mankind with purple with wings attached to his back, its Taher Shah. And people love him for his absurdity and confidence.
Pakistani sensational singer Taher Shah has made a comeback with his second album “Angel” whose title song was released through YouTube on Saturday.
Dressed in robes with angel wings attached to back and a plastic wand in hand, Taher is mankind’s angel. Let’s not comment anymore on the lyrics.
This burlesque is set in a manicured garden that looks like a utopia. The video is later joined by two other artists, a woman and a child, completing the angle family photo.
This cultural icon of Pakistan, who had had announced about his “Newly invented song” in March and later even gave a sneak peak to his costume.
With more than 45,000 followers on Twitter, Shah has gained a cult following. Unsurprisingly, people have come out with memes and funny comments.
His work in 2013, “Eye to eye”, also made it to the news for that “one song that everybody loves to mock”. Bollywood actor Ranvir Kapoor’s dubsmash sequence with this song in 2015 too had gone viral.
Well I don’t think this is scoring any different but Taher Shah clearly does not care.
