Tharoor is not a happy man this morning. Not like he needs a reason beyond just watching it for a few minutes, but Tharoor did have a rough Wednesday, and by the time he was done at night, proverbial residual matter hit the roof and he went bonkers. All of this started on Wednesday morning when the Delhi High Court ordered the Special Investigating Team (SIT) probing the Sunanda Pushkar whodunit to conduct polygraph tests on the three aides of the former Union Minister. All news channels picked it up, Times Now rode on it. The whole day, reporters of Times Now in Delhi, and later in Thiruvananthapuram, strategized on how to chase Tharoor to elicit a reaction from him. Tharoor, quite obviously, was not interested. It’s an ongoing investigation and there was no way he was going to open his mouth. In Delhi, Tharoor managed to evade the Times Now reporter. At Prime Time, Arnab Goswami went bang-bang against Tharoor. Watch it here. But TV reporters are a committed lot. Like Bachchan Jr. says in the 2007 movie "Guru", “Mujhe ‘na’ shabd sunai nahi deta”. We can’t take no for an answer. So at the Thiruvananthapuram airport, this happened.     The reporter in Thiruvananthapuram apparently managed to piss Tharoor off, and Tharoor snapped, as he explains in his tweets later last night.   Scummy channel accuses me of evading questions. I speak to the police &investigators, not to self-appointed vigilante liars. Told them so. — Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) May 20, 2015     These vile people have sunk so low today in their venal desire to profit from a personal tragedy that my 17month-old silence finally cracked — Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) May 20, 2015     I let myself down by shouting in fury at a badgering hack whom i had often been kind to. Won't again. I regret giving them the satisfaction. — Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) May 20, 2015   Times Now then started reporting that Tharoor was attacking the "media". So this morning, Tharoor fired a few more shots.   Amused to see my comment to the 1 channel that stalked me at home &at Tvm airport is being twisted as an attack on all media. Taking refuge? — Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) May 21, 2015     Let's be clear: only 1 channel ran a witch-hunt yesterday all evening, lied&distorted facts, aired innuendo, ran a survey on purported guilt — Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) May 21, 2015     It suits gutter journalists 2 pretend I attacked their entire fraternity.I attacked only those who put exploitation of tragedy above justice — Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) May 21, 2015   Curiously, Times Now has since taken down the video of last night’s airport kerfuffle from its homepage. (Update: Times Now also took down their Vine which was earlier posted on this page) This is however not the first time Times Now and Tharoor have been at loggerheads. Here is a (hilarious) video of a reporter chasing Tharoor’s car down for an on-camera response in Kolkata few months back. During the Tharoor-IPL controversy too, there were some heated moments. Going by their history, guess more in store for us! Get the popcorn out.
