The NTR biopic is one of the most anticipated biopic in the Telugu film industry. With a number of biopic being made currently including the YSR biopic Yaathra and the Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy biopic Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, fans are looking for the NTR biopic as it features N Balakrishna in the title role. Being the son of NTR and an ace himself with a huge fan following, it is natural that the expectations are very high.

According to latest reports about the film, we hear that Andhra Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is also NTR’s son-in-law and Balayya’s brother-in-law, is keen that it hits the silver screens for Sankaranthi next year. With the state going to elections next year, the election code of conduct is expected to be in place in late January. Following this, N Chandra Babu Naidu has instructed the team to have it released ahead of it. The biopic is sure to help the CM’s political party Telugu Desam Party, which was founded by NTR.

The film also made it to the headlines with reports that the Bollywood diva Vidya Balan has been roped in to play NTR’s wife Basavatharakam. The star cast also includes Mohan Babu playing  SV Ranga Rao and Sumanth as A Nageswara Rao. Keerthy Suresh has been approached to play Savitri in the NTR biopic and she had agreed to do it. It is well known that Savitri and NT Rama Rao shared the screen space in several films during their heydays as hero and heroine and have come out with blockbuster hits.

Reports are that Jisshu will be seen playing the late prolific filmmaker and Dadasaheb Phalke winner LV Prasad while Sachin will be donning the greasepaint as the ex chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Nadhendla Bhaskar Rao.

The biopic is bankrolled by N Balakrishna along with Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri. Director Teja was initially roped in to direct it but he opted out for various reasons and now the project is helmed by J Krish.

Tollywood is currently under the biopic fad with a biopic on the late chief minister of Andhra YS Rajasekar Reddy, freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and wrestler Kodi Ramamurthy being made.
