Two days after director Ram Gopal Varma took to Twitter to ‘extend sympathy’ to Anurag Kashyap, whose latest release Bombay Velvet was not received positively at the box office, Kashyap finally decided to break the silence. Though Varma’s earlier tweets went unnoticed by Kashyap, his tweet on Sunday seem to have caught Kashyap’s attention. This is how the exchange began:A director standing by his film rejected by the audience is like him telling a girl "I love myself and I don't care if you don't love me" — Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) May 17, 2015An interesting round of replies followed, after Kashyap asked RGV to “put that Vodka aside and sleep”.  @RGVzoomin sir i love you too much.. now put that Vodka aside and sleep.. lots of kisses — Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) May 17, 2015@anuragkashyap72 well sir for ur info I stopped drinking ...I am not into kissing men but love you too   — Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) May 18, 2015In what looked like an attempt at returning the “AAG analogy”, Anurag Kashyap tweeted “lets have filter coffee together soon to celebrate the AAG”.  @RGVzoomin then lets have filter coffee together soon to celebrate the AAG.. — Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) May 18, 2015In a series of tweets on May 15, Ram Gopal Varma had bashed Bombay Velvet, left, right and center.  There's a very thin line between confidence and arrogance and only Velvets and AAGS can show the difference — Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) May 15, 2015Following his 2007 film Aag that fared pathetic at the box office, RGV seems to finally agree that AAG was indeed a major flop, comparing it with Kashyap's latest venture.  Because I am 1st maker of AAG I think I have experience and right to lay them on a velvety cushion nd console the future AAGIANS — Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) May 15, 2015My velvety tears for the maker of a disaster like AAG are for the tragedy, that by being the butt of it,he himself doesn't get to fuck it   — Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) May 15, 2015The bottom line is everyone makes an AAG and till he makes his own AAG he will bitch about others AAGS until he too burns in his own AAG   — Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) May 15, 2015This is not the first time that Ram Gopal Varma has had a spat on the social networking website.Earlier, in April, after the release of Maniratnam’s ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’ starring Dulquer Salman, Varma attracted the wrath of Mollywood after he called Mammootty a junior artist compared to his son Dulquer.
