The shooting of the Rajinikanth starrer Kaala began in Mumbai on 28th May and has been progressing steadily.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, the magnum opus has a bevy of stars in the cast which has raised speculation on who plays who in it.
Well, the buzz from sources close to the film unit is that Manyu will be playing the Superstar’s grandson in the movie. Incidentally, he is the son of actor and dance choreographer Kadhal Kandhaas. Manyu is all excited to share the screen space with Rajinikanth in this magnum opus.
Further, we hear that Dhileepan, who was seen playing the main lead in Vathikuchi, has been roped in to play the star’s son. It may be mentioned here that he is the younger brother of director AR Murugadoss. And Eswari Rao will be seen as Rajini’s wife in the movie. Touted to be a gangster flick, Kaala is directed by Pa Ranjith of Kabali fame. The film also has Huma Quershi, Nana Patekar, Sayaji Shinde, Sukanya, Samuthirakani and others in the star cast.
The shooting of this flick has been put on hold for now as Rajini is away in the US for a health check up. He will be back on the sets of the film on July 12th, add sources. Kaala has Santhosh Narayan scoring the music and G Murali cranking the camera with Sreekar Prasad editing it. The film is bankrolled by Dhanush under his home banner Wunderbar Films and is scheduled for release next year. With the Kabali team joining hands for Kaala, expectations are skyrocketing n Kollywood.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s yet another magnum opus, the Shankar directorial 2.o, which is currently into the post production mode, is also gearing up for an early 2018 release.
