Actor Nivin Pauly is Malayalam's new superstar. According to media reports, he has earned the coveted 'superstar' tag after his blockbuster hit 'Premam'.   Nivin Pauly must have obviously celebrated that, but then come the comparisons with other permanent giants of Malayalam cinema, Mammooty and Mohanlal.   There were reports that Nivin Pauly had increased his pay to Rs 2 crore which is equal to the remuneration of Mohanlal and Mammootty.   All young actors in Malayalam industry seem to know that fans of the two stars won't take kindly to such comparisons, precisely why Nivin Pauly seems to have jumped into action, denying these reports.   In an interview to Khaleej Times, Nivin Pauly slammed the news reports and said that Malayalam industry can never afford such a huge amount and the media had cooked up these stories.   The young actor also asked his fans not to compare him to superstar Mohanlal and that even if he did hundred movies, he would not even reach Lal's shadow.   Pauly’s recent hit ‘Premam’ which reportedly collected 20 crore in 13 days, features three love affairs of the protagonist (Nivin Pauly). When asked who he would perhaps have romanced in real life among those three ladies, he answered 'Malar'.   He has also credited Vineeth Sreenivasan who introduced him to the film industry for his success. Pauly’s break through movie Thattathin Marayathu was directed by Vineeth.
