When 23-year-old Indhuja Pillai's parents put her profile on a popular matrimonial site, her initial reaction was that of anger and annoyance. She says she is not 'marriage-material', but what equally irked her was the way her parents chose to describe her on the site. "It was so unlike me", says Indhuja, a Bengaluru-based professional.

"I am a loner. People call me weird and an alien. I like being on my own and I love travelling alone. And I definitely do not want to get married now", she adds.

Indhuja, who works with a tech-start-up in the city, then came up with a unique idea that would not only tell the world the kind of person she is in lucid terms, but also her views on marriage.

Overnight she created a website- marry.indhuja.com . "There was no specific reason for making a fresh website. It was meant more like a sarcastic statement. Besides, creating a website comes easy to me", she says.

The site includes basic information about Indhuja and her bio along with a crisp description of the man she is looking for- 'A man, preferably bearded, who is passionate about seeing the world. Someone who earns for himself and does NOT hate his job. Must be flexible with his parents, also means, it's better if he is NOT a family guy. Extra points to the one who hates kids. Points for a great voice and an impressive personality. Should be able to hold a conversation for atleast 30 minutes'.

Ever since, Indhuja says, her website went viral, garnering over 1.7 lakh views till now.

People wrote back to her complimenting her idea, though there were also a few who called her a 'kid' and 'immature'. And then there were those who took the website quite seriously and conveyed interest in marrying her.

"Around 25 people wrote to me expressing their interest, but at this point I am not interested in marriage. I let them know my views", Indhuja says.

Is she just against the institution of marriage or is opposed to being in any sort of relationship whatsoever?

"I think I have been a loner for quite some time now. I am not a fan of any kind of relationship. Though I am open to marrying someone who is passionate about he does, irrespective of what he does or where he hails from", she says adding, "But I do not want to be tied down by relationships. I do not want to marry a family. I may not even want to have children. I am the sort of person who is constantly on the move".

A Tamilian who hails from Salem, Indhuja thinks her idea of the website initially made her parents sceptical. "They weren't sure about the content, but once they saw it, they understood it. It is a very honest description of myself", she says.
