Madhya Pradesh Home Minister and BJP leader Babulal Gaur is no stranger to raking controversy. This time around, the 85-year-old is in the news for an anecdote that he shared with party members at a state-level convention organised by the party’s naturopathy cell and an international naturopathy organisation on Sunday. Recalling an earlier trip to Russia, Gaur narrated how the wife of a Russian leader expressed her curiosity at how he wore the dhoti without a belt or even a zip. Though sections of the audience could be heard applauding and laughing when Gaur said he told the woman he could teach her in private, some leaders could not hide their embarrassment, reports NDTV.  He also mentioned a separate incident during his trip where he was kissed on the forehead by a Russian woman. He reportedly quipped, "If that had been noticed, I would not have got a ticket for the election at home.” In the past, the octogenarian leader has invited criticisms for making ludicrous statements on rape, including when he said "rape is a 'social crime'", which is “sometimes right, and sometimes wrong”.
