Nitin B| The News Minute| October 27, 2014| 9.00 am ISTPoliticians and political parties have been using the web increasingly to reach out to a lot of people. The BJP used it effectively during elections and after, even parties like the Aam Aadmi Party have used twitter to further support their ideology.A lot of celebrities and politicians are now on Facebook and Twitter and have managed to amass a huge number of followers.  But, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has taken it to another level. For a party that is already in power and has more than 8 lakh likes for its Facebook page, the atrocious claims it makes to put down K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana is appalling. There was a photo posted on TDP's Facebook page on October 25th which read “Mosquitos wreak havoc in Telangana! Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya… Telangana is being hit by a mosquito epidemic while the government remains blissfully unaware. Scores of people are dying every day, but the Health Minister maintains that no such thing has occurred. What’s more, even MLAs are not being spared of nasty mosquito bites. If you are in Telangana, please protect yourself because the government cannot!”These allegations come without any credible data whatsoever and observing the trust that people have for the party, could cause some serious panic among the citizens. The second post was even more shocking as it was aimed directly at Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Raoand claimed that he was “Stone drunk” during the press conference he held. The post said “Power generation halted in Srisailam…KCR’s government stopped power generation from the Srisailam Left Bank hydro power house on Friday morning itself. To calm down the out of control TRS workers who have got used to hate speeches, KCR began his senseless midnight outburst against CBN at a press conference. The talk of the town is that KCR was stone drunk during the conference. Shame on you for spreading lies. Shame on you for disrespecting your chair”Though KCR may not have been the most non controversial politician himself, from calling himself Hitler to threatening that he would 'bury the media 10 feet under the earth if it insults Telangana, the TDP’s Facebook posts are clearly taking shots below the belt.Post by Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
