What Subramanian Swamy and others had to say about Rahul Gandhi joining Twitter

It has finally been acknowledged the Twitter handle @OfficeofRG is the official rather than personal account of Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi. As of now his Twitter handle follows only three other accounts, namely the Indian National Congress, the Youth Wing of the Indian National Congress and the National Students Union of India. After returning from his 56-day leave, Rahul Gandhi has been extremely active in Parliament by taking jabs against the NDA government on important issues like net neutrality and the land acquisition bill. The Hindu reported that senior Congress leader, Digvijaya Singh had earlier advised him to get on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Seems like Rahul has taken up the matter seriously but chooses to take one step at a time. However, RaGa’s entry into the world of social media does not seem to have smooth sailing for him. When asked about his views on the Congress Vice-President joining Twitter, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy compared Gandhi to an illiterate person.“One should influence people on Twitter through their views, take others’ views and criticisms into consideration and then they will get followers. But what does he have? That is the reason he might have hired people to handle his account,” Swamy told Aaj Tak.This is what some others had to say.So Rahul Gandhi has joined twitter. Some access for Congressmen now. — Pritish Nandy (@PritishNandy) May 7, 2015So Rahul Gandhi finally on twitter? @OfficeOfRG . We know who runs @narendramodi account, who will manage RG account? — Rajdeep Sardesai (@sardesairajdeep) May 6, 2015Hopefully Rahul Gandhi's twitter account won't disappear like him - without notice — Mohan Sinha (@Mohansinha) May 7, 2015Watch Subramanian Swamy's statement here.
