The news studio was made to look like a war zone with planes landing in the background.

It was only a year ago that the Indian media went overboard covering the death of superstar Sridevi, and formulated their own speculations and theories of how the actor could have drowned in a bathtub. Certain news anchors turned Sherlock and conducted bathtub investigations on air. Telugu channel TV9 morphed visuals of Sridevi lying inside a bathtub, beer bottles placed above the bathtub with Boney Kapoor looking on. Prime time news turned into a circus, as anchors jumped inside bathtubs and did mathematical calculations to prove there was more to the actor’s sudden demise.

A year later, on Tuesday morning as we woke up to the news of IAF destroying the Jaish-e-Mohammad camp in Pakistan’s Balakot, some Indian news anchors once again went overboard. A Telugu news anchor from TV9 decided to wear a combat uniform while reporting from the news studio in Hyderabad. Not happy just wearing the uniform, he also held a toy gun in his hand.

Even more interesting were the graphics that made the news studio look like a war zone with planes landing in the background. The reporter further screamed loud describing the attack on the JeM training camps.

The video soon went viral on Twitter and people have come with hilarious responses to the anchor’s theatrics.

“This picture is not from a fancy dress competition. He is a news anchor reporting about the surgical strikes conducted by India. Dreading what he'd wear if he had to report about the early men,” a Twitter user wrote.

While many have mocked Telugu channels of being 10 steps ahead of the rest of the media in the country, some angry users have also demanded that the news channels be banned, especially Telugu news channels.
