'We have nothing to fear': Pawan Kalyan hits back at Jagan for personal remark

A day after YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy made personal comments against actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, calling him a ‘nitya pellikoduku’ (bridegroom forever), the Jana Sena party chief hit back.

Speaking to party workers in Bhimavaram on Wednesday, Pawan said, "If so many people, from Jagan to BJP to TDP are abusing me, you should think about why they are doing so. Is it so because we are bringing change? That shows our strength," Pawan said.

"They think that if they abuse us, we will fear them. What they don't understand is that Pawan Kalyan will peel your skin off if he comes close to you," he added, amid applause.

Pawan also said that he was committed to fight for the people.

"You people, who have been involved with the sand mafia and scandals, have the guts to speak in such a tone, then think about how much guts a person like me, who is committed to fight for the people, has?" Pawan asked.

“What these fools do not understand...when goondas and factionists say whatever they want, a 'sainik' will be able to respond with strength," he added, referring to his party, Jana Sena.

Getting personal, the YSRCP leader on Tuesday had said, “He speaks about values… where does he have values? He has four wives. He changes them as if changing new cars every four or five years. Had we done the same thing, what will people say? Wouldn’t they have called us ‘nitya pellikoduku’ and put us behind bars. Isn’t it polygamy?”

Jagan went on to say that he feels sad that people are forced to take seriously those who turn political just six months before elections. His statement was in reference to Pawan Kalyan’s recent statewide tour.

The YSRCP president’s comments were in response to a question by a reporter during a press conference at Samalkot, East Godavari district.

Continuing to attack Pawan Kalyan, Jagan had said, “It is our karma that we are forced to listen to people like Pawan Kalyan. For four years, the same man along with Chandrababu Naidu and BJP did Kaapuram (a Telugu euphemism for a couple having a marital relationship). Now, six months before elections, he’s coming out and saying that he did a mistake and claiming that he’s a Pathivratha (virtuous wife).”
