Social media was also not spared, with hastags like #BanPK and #AntiHindu, the movie witnessed a lot of hate. Various influential figures like Baba Ramdev and Subramanian Swamy also came out and asked the public to boycott the movie. Various groups like the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) disrupted the screening in theaters and tore posters of the picture while shouting anti Aamir Khan slogans. Dressed as both a Hindu and a Muslim on separate occasions, a man in Noida asks people to sign a petition to kill Aamir Khan because he hurt the religious sentiments of the people in the film.
