TDP MLA and senior leader Revanth Reddy was greeted by 10 TDP MLAs and 5 BJP MLAs as his convoy dropped him off near the legislative assembly building in Hyderabad on the eve of the MLC polls on June 1st.The MLA who was embraced by the other legislators was basking in the attention as camera shutters clicked away. Revanth was arrested last night by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly bribing an MLA ahead of the MLC polls.A special Hyderabad court had remanded Mr Reddy in judicial custody for 14 days a little while earlier, also allowing him to vote. After he was done casting his vote, the police were quick to whisk him away to the Cherallapalli jail following which news came that his bail petition was posted to tomorrow, the 2nd of June.(The MLA was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act and sections of the IPC)Revanth Reddy, who is also a close aide of Andhra chief minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was caught red handed by the ACB who set up a trap and nabbed him along with three others and cash worth 50 lakh of the alleged Rs 5 crore that was agreed upon for a vote in TDP's favour.The video footage from the ACB operation also shows Revanth telling the elected Anglo Indian MLA Stephenson, whom he tried to bribe that "this is my personal responsibility with my boss." Revanth says this as he hands over the money to Stephenson while adding that there was no "ambiguity" from his side. The TRS including KCR, have caught on to the video and allege that this "boss" referred to in the video, is none other than his Andhra counterpart and also demanded that Chandrababu Naidu be made "chief accused" in the case.TRS MLA Karne Prabhakar even demanded that on the basis of People's Representation Act the TDP should be derecognised for offering bribe to another MLA.The video also shows a large stack of Rs 500 notes that are being removed from the bag and put on the nearby table. The whole audio and video footage is going to make it hard for the TDP leader to defend himself. The TDP are still maintaining that the arrest is a TRS conspiracy.
